Online store Ozon introduces subscription fee for delivery

MOSCOW, Feb 5 (PRIME) -- Russian online store Ozon has revised delivery terms and introduced a ûubscription fee for delivery, called Ozon.Premium, according to information seen by PRIME late Monday on the seller’s website.

“Most of Internet stores add their costs to prices of goods, and Ozon was not an exception. We experimented with various approaches, including free delivery, and the fairest for the client would be to work with them under a logistics company model,” General Director Alexander Shulgin told PRIME.

Ozon.Premium costs 1,599 rubles for six months. “Users of Ozon.Premium can make an unlimited number of orders with a minimum price of 2,999 rubles depending on a region or get a discount of 30% if the amount of an order is below the lowest set,” he said.

Courier delivery now costs 399 rubles, and delivery to postamats and pick-up points costs 299 rubles. At the end of January, delivery to a pick-up point in Moscow could cost 57 rubles.
